Est. 1985
Four decades of authentic Italian cooking, family traditions, and memories made around the table.
In 1985, Mario Rossi left his small village outside Naples with a dream: open a restaurant that serves the food his grandmother made. Nothing fancy. Just honest, authentic Italian cooking.
He found a small space on 7th Street in Saint Paul. Painted the walls himself. Built the tables with his own hands. Hired one cook — his cousin from the old country.
On opening night, they served 12 people. By the end of the first year, the wait for a table was two hours. Mario's had found its home.
